Dr. Marc Jay Pinsky received his undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Binghamton and was granted a BA degree with a pre-med major in Biology.  His education continued with his medical training at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.  He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree in 1977.  He stayed in the Philadelphia area to serve his primary podiatric medical internship and his surgical hospital residency from 1977 through 1979.  Dr. Pinsky received an "Award of Excellence" from the American College of Podiatric Radiologists and the "Outstanding Resident" Award in Podiatric Orthopedics and also the "Outstanding Resident" Award in "Podiatric Surgery" from the Broad Street Hospital - University Medical Center.

Dr. Pinsky practiced podiatric medicine and surgery in the Philadelphia area from 1979 through 1989. At that time he relocated to Richmond, Virginia.  He has practiced podiatric medicine and surgery since then.

Dr. Pinsky believes that continuing medical education is extremely important.  To this extent, he successfully completed the requirements to become a Fellow of The Academy of Ambulatory Foot & Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Pinsky became Board Certified in both Podiatric Medicine and Foot Surgery by The American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery, and has successfully been recertified every five years since then. 

Dr. Pinsky became very interested in the many complications that diabetes can cause in the human foot & ankle.  To be part of the continuing research and developing therapeutic advances in preventing the loss of limbs through amputation, Doctor Pinsky became certified in wound care as a Fellow of The American Professional Wound Care Association.

Each year Dr. Pinsky attends numerous scientific seminars to enhance his knowledge base, thereby being able to offer you new and progressive treatments and therapies.  He is a noted lecturer on many topics pertaining to podiatric medicine to both the general public and professional organizations alike.  Dr. Pinsky has also published numerous articles in scientific journals.

Doctor Pinsky is a past President of The Council of VA Podiatric Physicians & Surgeons.  He also served as the President of The Virginia Podiatric Medical Association - Central Division, and as the Treasurer of The Virginia Podiatric Medical Association.  He is an active member of The American Podiatric Medical Association and is currently the Secretary of The Virginia Podiatric Medical Association.
